Traffic signals have failed at the Bann Bridge in Kilrea, County Derry, with drivers advised to use another route where possible on Saturday night, 24 October.

TrafficWatch Northern Ireland’s current traffic bulletin says the fault has been referred for repair. Its advice is to approach with extreme caution if using the crossing, which carries single-file traffic in either direction.

The notice says repairs are unlikely to take place until Sunday, 25 October. That is an expectation, rather than a confirmed repair appointment or a promise that the signals will be restored by a particular time.

No specific alternative route is named in the bulletin. Drivers planning to cross the Bann at Kilrea should check TrafficWatch again before setting off and allow for a different journey if necessary. The published notice does not state the cause of the signal failure.

The same official bulletin separately lists the Foyle Bridge in Derry city as closed in both directions because of strong winds. That closure is covered in The Press’s existing Foyle Bridge report.
