Residents of Naas and Newbridge can comment on proposed town bus networks following a National Transport Authority consultation launched on 8 October 2026. Submissions close at 5pm on Thursday, 12 November. Each town would have two routes operating every half hour in each direction, seven days a week, for up to 18 hours daily. These are proposed services; they are not buses passengers can catch today. [1]

The Naas plans connect Piper’s Hill and Sallins via the hospital, centre and railway station, and K Leisure with Millennium Park via the centre and Monread. Newbridge’s proposed routes link Athgarvan with Old Connell Weir, and Ballymany with Littleconnell, including the centre and station. [1]

Describe the journey the map needs to serve

Start with one regular trip: its starting area, destination, day and arrival time. Explain what makes the existing journey difficult, then identify the part of the proposal that would help or still leave a gap. That gives planners a practical problem to examine rather than a general request for more buses.

Review the consultation’s route maps before naming a stop. The portal says final stop locations depend on the route alignments and work with Kildare County Council. Check how someone would actually walk between a potential stop and a destination; a nearby line on a map does not resolve every crossing or access issue. [2]

Keep delivery dates and feedback dates separate

The NTA’s objective is operation from 2028/2029 onwards, dependent on funding and supporting infrastructure. Its consultation describes turning facilities, layover space and other works needed before services can begin. That objective should not be treated as a guaranteed launch date. [2]

Planning-team sessions are advertised at Newbridge Town Hall on 2 November and Naas Library on 4 November, both from 1.30pm to 5pm. The portal also provides online and written submission routes. Read its privacy information before sharing personal details: submissions may be published. Keep a copy of your own observations and the relevant route reference. This article does not submit feedback on anyone’s behalf. [2]
