Monaghan's Project Children autumn programme continues until 13 October 2026, but visitors should plan around individual venues and booking arrangements. A screening in Castleblayney, a performance in Monaghan and a football event in Clones are separate outings, rather than one programme happening in a single building. [1][2]
The council describes the events as free. The museum's programme also identifies advance booking for the Sunday screening and registration for Tuesday's book launch. [1][2] Check those arrangements before travelling; a free event can still have a capacity limit.
Sunday evening: Castleblayney, with seats booked ahead
The museum lists How to Defuse a Bomb at Iontas Theatre, Castleblayney, on Sunday 11 October. Entertainment starts at 6pm and the film is scheduled for 6.30pm. Its programme provides a seat-booking link and says advance booking is required. [1]
Use that official link to check availability. This article does not confirm that seats remain, and arriving at the venue is not a substitute for a booking. If the timing does not suit, look at the later events separately rather than rushing between towns.
Monday and Tuesday: theatre, sport and the book launch
The Unfinished Broadside is scheduled at the Peace Campus in Monaghan at 7.30pm on Monday 12 October. The production follows Irish-born printer John Dunlap and explores connections between Ireland, Scotland and America. [2]
Tuesday's sporting programme is at St Tiernach's Park in Clones. The council lists a children's blitz from noon, followed at 1pm by an exhibition match between the NYPD Gaelic Football Club and the Garda divisional GAA team. [2] These are the announced arrangements, not a report of a match that has already happened.
Later on Tuesday, the book launch returns to the Peace Campus in Monaghan. The museum lists book purchasing and signing with author Jane Buckley from 4.30pm, with the main launch programme at 7pm. Registration is required. It says the main event is in the Level 3 Community Room, with additional guests accommodated in other campus spaces to watch a livestream because capacity is limited. [1]
A registration should therefore not be read as a guarantee of a seat in the main room. Check the official registration information and ask the organiser about the arrangement that matters to your group.
Make one clear plan for the outing
Write down the event name, town, venue, start time and booking confirmation together. If you need step-free access, a particular seating arrangement or transport home, confirm it directly before committing to the journey. Save the organiser's contact details alongside the booking rather than relying on a screenshot of a general announcement.
The museum lists its contact as 047 82928 and comuseum@monaghancoco.ie. Its Project Children page also connects the events with the exhibition and permanent archive developed through the council's cultural partnership. [1] That gives visitors an official starting point for learning more without assuming that ordinary museum opening hours cover every evening event.
Programme information was checked on 11 October 2026. Confirm current availability and any changes through the linked official programme.
