Edendork have won the Tyrone senior football championship for the first time, beating Errigal Ciarán by 1-14 to 1-13 in the replay at O’Neill’s Healy Park in Omagh on Friday, 23 October.

Niall Morgan’s two-point free in stoppage time decided the match. The GAA’s official match report records Peter Harte putting Errigal ahead late on before Morgan’s winning kick. Highland Radio also reports the one-point victory.

A second late score changes the outcome

The replay followed Sunday’s drawn final, when Darren McCurry’s late two-pointer left the sides level at 1-12 to 0-15. Five days later, a different Edendork player delivered the decisive late score.

McCurry contributed 1-6 in the replay, including a penalty, while Morgan finished with three points. Edendork led by 1-8 to 1-6 at half-time before Errigal recovered to lead near the finish.

The final score represents 17 points to 16. For Edendork, the narrow margin secures a first senior county championship rather than another replay, turning their breakthrough final appearance into a title.
