The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival programme spans 22–26 October 2026, with performances across venues including Cork Opera House, The Everyman, Triskel Arts Centre and Live at St Luke’s. The published lineup mixes afternoon, evening and late-night listings. For someone planning a visit, choosing an artist is only the first part of the decision. [1]
One useful contrast is already visible in the official schedule: Annie Mac’s 23 October Cork Opera House listing gives doors at 11.30pm, while Bill Laurance’s 24 October Triskel listing gives doors at 2.15pm. Those are door times, not a promise that the performance starts immediately. Read the venue’s own ticket details before building a timetable around either. [1]
Build the return journey around the late finish
A late door time can move the trip home into the following calendar day. When checking transport or arranging a collection, write down the day as well as the time. A plan for Friday night can fail if it relies on a Saturday service that operates differently.
Allow for getting between venues and for the point at which you need to leave to make the return journey. Two events appearing on the same date are not automatically a workable double booking. Check duration and entry rules with the venue instead of treating the city as one performance space.
Free Fringe events are a separate option
The organiser describes a programme of free Fringe events and lists brass groups among its participating acts. It also describes outreach visits to care centres and schools. Those visits should not be treated as general public events unless a particular listing says so. Free programming does not make every ticketed headline show free. [2]
For a first visit, one confirmed performance and a realistic travel plan can be more useful than a crowded list of possibilities. Check the current booking status, access arrangements and age conditions at the actual venue. The official festival name includes its commercial sponsor; this article is independent coverage and The Press has not been paid for it.
Programme details were checked on 10 October. This guide does not confirm remaining tickets or report attendance.
