Bus Éireann says **routes 220 and 220X are currently unable to serve Crosshaven in either direction**, with services terminating at **Carrigaline Primary Care Centre** instead.
The operator’s South Region notice, updated at **7.53am on Friday, 23 October**, cites a road traffic incident on Crosshaven Road. It gives no time for normal service to resume.
Passengers travelling to or from Crosshaven should check the operator’s current notice before setting out. The temporary endpoint is a change to today’s operating route, separate from the planned works below.
Farranree diversions from 5pm today
Three Farranree-area stops will be skipped by Cork buses travelling towards CUH and Parklands from **5pm today, Friday 23 October**, under diversions for Knockpogue Avenue resurfacing.
The operator lists these arrangements until **9pm on Sunday, 1 November**. These are planned works.
Check the direction as well as the route
Routes **201 towards CUH** and **203 towards Parklands** will miss:
| Stop | Number | | --- | --- | | Farranree Church | 211721 | | Scoil Íosagáin Fairhill | 242421 | | Upper Fairhill | 242431 |
Temporary boarding points are before the Popham’s Road/Knockpogue Avenue junction and on Fairfield Avenue after the Liam Healy Road junction, according to the operator.
The reverse directions — **201 towards Lotabeg** and **203 towards the city centre/Manor Farm** — are listed as unaffected by this diversion. A stop being bypassed in one direction should therefore not be read as the withdrawal of both services throughout the area.
Separate Maryborough Hill changes tomorrow
The same notice gives a **midnight–6pm Saturday, 24 October** closure at Maryborough Hill for bridge demolition, affecting **216 and 220**. Several stops around Maryborough Hill, Lissadell and Broadale will be bypassed; the lists differ by direction.
The operator identifies alternatives on Rochestown Road and specific replacement stops, including Maryborough Woods for Monkstown-bound 216 passengers using Maryborough Hill. Check the full route-by-route stop list before leaving: Friday’s north-city diversion and Saturday’s south-city changes have different locations and operating hours.
All times are Irish local time. Updated on Friday morning with the Crosshaven service restriction.
