A fresh water-main burst in Cloonfad village, Co Roscommon, on Thursday morning, 22 October, has brought further disruption to local supplies, Uisce Éireann says.
In its latest Cloonfad notice, checked on Thursday afternoon, the utility said crews were carrying out repairs. It expected the work to finish during the afternoon, with water returning gradually over the following hours as the network refills.
That is an estimate for completing repairs, rather than a guarantee that every property will immediately have normal pressure. Customers on higher ground or at the ends of the network may have to wait longer.
Replacement project continues
The new burst follows earlier supply problems in the area. Uisce Éireann says about 40% of its 5km water-main replacement project is complete, with more than 2km of old and damaged mains replaced.
The utility says the project is intended to tackle recurring bursts and make the community’s supply more reliable. It has not confirmed a universal restoration time in the current notice.
