Carlow’s Jinglefest comedy programme is taking bookings for shows from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 December, following its launch on 12 October. The programme runs across Carlow town, Bagenalstown and Tullow, bringing stand-up, storytelling and improvisation to different venues. [1]
For people organising a festive night out, the first decision is the particular show and town. The festival name does not make the performances one location or establish that a single ticket covers the weekend.
The opening night has a separate purpose
The organisers list One Night Stand Up in aid of Carlow Women’s Aid at The Tower on Tullow Street for Thursday 3 December at 8pm. The launch announcement describes local participants preparing original stand-up with Karl Spain’s mentorship. [1]
A fundraiser with local performers and an established-act gala offer different kinds of evening. Choose the format that interests your group rather than assuming every date has the same line-up.
Use the venue’s current description for the Friday gala
VISUAL’s live listing names its Friday event The Big Comedy Gala Night. It is scheduled for 4 December at 8pm in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, with Ardal O’Hanlon headlining, Sharon Mannion hosting and Colm O’Regan appearing as special guest. The displayed price is €22 including the booking fee. [2]
The booking page’s URL still refers to Ardal O’Hanlon, while the current page describes the wider gala. Use the title, date and line-up on the live page when sharing the plan, and check the final ticket details before payment. The published price is not a guarantee that seats remain available.
VISUAL says wheelchair users and groups of more than eight should book through its box office. Its event page also says tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. [2] Read the current conditions before buying for a group whose plans are still uncertain.
Check the town when choosing a weekend show
Saturday’s programme includes a Tullow event at the Tara Arms and a Bagenalstown event at The Convent, alongside shows in Carlow town. The organisers also list Sunday improvisation and evening comedy at other venues. [1]
That spread makes a precise address more useful than a general festival location. Put the venue and start time beside the ticket link. Do not arrange dinner or a lift around the assumption that every performance takes place at VISUAL.
Plan the evening around access and the return journey
VISUAL publishes its address on Old Dublin Road and visitor information through its Plan Your Visit page. [3] Use the individual venue’s equivalent information for other performances, especially if step-free access, seating or an assistance requirement affects your choice.
Check the expected finish time with the venue before arranging a last bus, train or collection. Leave a practical gap between dinner, travel and the performance, and save the confirmation with the person coordinating your group.
The newly announced programme offers several ways to take part in December. A clear plan for one show is more useful than a crowded itinerary that depends on uncertain timings.
