An operational problem at Ballany Reservoir is disrupting water supplies in parts of Co Westmeath on Thursday, 22 October, according to Uisce Éireann.

The utility’s local notice, checked on Thursday afternoon, lists Castlepollard, Coole, St Tola’s National School, Delvin, Hiskinstown and surrounding areas as potentially affected.

Repairs are scheduled to continue until 4pm Irish time today. Uisce Éireann says normal pressure may take additional time to return after the work finishes because the network must refill. Properties on higher ground or at the ends of the network can face a longer wait.

Repair estimate is not a full-restoration deadline

The published 4pm time relates to the works. The notice does not guarantee that all customers will have normal supply at that hour.

Uisce Éireann is asking affected customers to be mindful of water use while crews restore the service. The notice gives an operational issue as the cause and does not provide further technical detail.
